Lok Adalat is conducted in a single sitting to ease the burden of pending cases and provide a platform for amicable settlements between disputing parties. The cases taken up in this session included criminal compoundable offences, revenue matters, Negotiable Instruments Act matters, bank recovery, electricity bills, motor accident claims, matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, and other civil cases.
A total of 21 benches were constituted across various courts, including the District & Sessions Courts of Bomdila, Aalo, and Yupia; Additional District & Sessions Court of Basar; Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Courts of Daporijo, Roing, Pasighat, Changlang, Bomdila, Seppa, Ziro, Aalo, and Yupia; and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Courts of Yupia, Khonsa, Pangin, Longding, Palin, Hawai, and Yingkiong.
The successful conduction of the Lok Adalat highlights the state’s commitment to speedy justice and alternative dispute resolution. By resolving cases outside formal court proceedings, it ensures efficient case disposal while significantly reducing the backlog in courts.
