Bomdila, Aug 21: The West Kameng district HQs town today marked an important milestone with the inauguration of a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), established by the Department of Urban Development & Housing, Bomdila Division. The facility is expected to play a crucial role in turning waste into resources, promoting cleaner surroundings and healthier living conditions.

Speaking at the inauguration, local MLA Dongru Siongju thanked in-charge Deputy Commissioner Rinchin Leta, HoDs, officers, senior public leaders, and youths for their presence and support. He said their participation reflected “the spirit of unity and shared responsibility in building a better Bomdila.”

The MRF is designed to streamline the management of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, thereby reducing pollution while enabling recycling and resource recovery. However, MLA Siongju stressed that the facility’s success depends on public cooperation. “If each of us uses separate bins for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, it will make recycling easier, our streets cleaner, and our town healthier,” he remarked.

He further urged citizens to adopt mindful consumption and responsible lifestyles, highlighting that small actions like waste segregation have long-term impacts on safeguarding the environment for future generations.

“Today’s achievement is not just about a new facility—it’s about the collective effort of our people. This project stands as a symbol of progress and hope. Together, we can build a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient Bomdila,” Siongju added.
