An utter disrespect to Lummer Dai! Whom to be blamed?

The plaque of the Lummer Dai Road near TRIHMS, Naharlagun unveiled years back, has been totally dismantled allegedly by the miscreants in an utter disrespect to the literary icon and doyen of journalism in Arunachal Pradesh, late Lummer Dai. The road from Naharlagun’s General Hospital (now, TRIHMS) to daily market via Prem Nagar (location of late writer’s residence) was named after him by the then Nabam Tuki-led State Government as a tribute to late Dai on a request from Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society. His role as a ‘bridge’ between the people of Arunachal and Assam is unparalleled. When approached by one of his family members, one of key Govt departments pleaded helplessness, citing ‘fund crunch’ to reinstall the damaged plaque.
