Itanagar, Sep 19: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik and Chief Minister Pema Khandu participated in a presentation on geospatial technologies at Raj Bhavan here on Friday. The session was conducted by Geospatial World President Annu Negi and Director Swati Mittal.
During the interaction, the Governor emphasized that the adoption of such technologies must facilitate the State Government in analyzing existing systems, strengthening efficiency, and devising innovative solutions to pressing challenges. He urged the representatives to share sector-specific requirements and highlight areas where Geographic Information System (GIS) applications could enhance governance, ensuring they are aligned with local needs and realities.
A strong advocate of technology-driven governance, Governor Patnaik remarked that geo-smart technologies have the potential to transform administration by enabling data-based analysis, improving service delivery, and remotely monitoring the progress of planned projects.
“The integration of technology into governance holds the promise of improving efficiency and enhancing the quality of life for people across the State,” he observed.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Khandu said geospatial technologies hold immense potential in improving public services, enhancing planning, and driving sustainable development for the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta and other senior officials also actively participated in the discussion, sharing perspectives on priority areas where geospatial solutions could address challenges and support sustainable development in Arunachal Pradesh.
Later, during a call-on with the Governor, Khandu apprised him of key development matters and sought his valuable guidance and suggestions. The Governor, in turn, shared insights on strengthening governance and accelerating the state’s growth trajectory.
