Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan launched in P/Pare dist

DOIMUKH, Sep 19: The District Health Society, Papum Pare has officially launched the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan — a dedicated campaign aimed at improving women and child health -- across the district on Thursday from CHC Doimukh.

The inaugural programme was graced by local MLA Nabam Vivek as chief guest. He was joined by Vishakha Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Yupia, PRI representatives of Doimukh block, community health workers, and officials of the District Health Society led by Dr R Rina Ronya, District Medical Officer.

This district-wide health initiative will run from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, covering all CHCs, PHCs, Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs), and Sub Centres (SCs) under Papum Pare (Rural).

The campaign emphasizes preventive and promotive healthcare for women and children, with services including screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), tuberculosis (TB), anemia, and sickle cell disease; distribution of sickle cell screening cards with counselling; antenatal check-ups (ANCs); immunization services; nutritional counselling; awareness sessions on enrolment & distribution of health cards including PMJAY/CMAAY/Ayushman Vaya Vandana cards and ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) cards and enrolment of Nikshay Mitras (volunteers supporting TB patients)

The DHS has urged all eligible women and children to actively participate in the campaign and avail the comprehensive healthcare services being offered.

On the occasion, the MLA also inaugurated an X-ray machine donated by NEEPCO under its CSR initiatives and counselling center at the CHC. (DIPRO)
