Yachuli, Nov 4: In a major crackdown on illegal mining activities, the Keyi Panyor district administration has carried out a coordinated enforcement drive against illegal stone crusher operations and unauthorized mineral extraction across multiple locations in the district on Monday.
The operation, conducted on November 3, was led by Assistant Mineral Development Officer (AMDO) Beru Dulom, with the support of a 26-member police team headed by Inspector Token Dubi, Officer-in-Charge of the Yachuli Police Station.
During the drive, three stone crusher units — M/s NT LLP (Pitapool), M/s Meens Stone Crusher (Potin), and M/s D & L Enterprises (Potin) — were found operating in violation of the Arunachal Pradesh Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2020. All three units were sealed after officials detected multiple offenses, including operating without a valid NOC, continuing operations after permit expiry, and engaging in illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
A large quantity of heavy machinery and vehicles were seized from the sites, including 13 dumper trucks, 3 backhoe loaders, 5 excavators, and 1 loader. While roadworthy vehicles were shifted to the Yazali Police Station for custody, defunct machinery was sealed at their respective sites.
Officials ensured that all legal procedures were meticulously followed during the operation. Seizure memos were issued, photographic and video documentation was recorded, machinery was immobilized, and show-cause notices were served to the violators with a seven-day period for response.
The district administration stated that the action forms part of a sustained campaign to curb illegal mining and safeguard the region’s mineral resources. Authorities further warned that similar enforcement drives will continue in the coming weeks to ensure strict compliance with mining regulations and environmental norms.
