Itanagar, Nov 4: The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) successfully organized the 7th Alumni Meet under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in Bengaluru, celebrating the achievements of its alumni and strengthening connections among trained youth, employers, and training partners.
The event brought together over 250 alumni currently employed in Bengaluru, primarily in sewing machine operator and retail & sales sectors. The alumni shared their experiences of empowerment and career growth, highlighting DDU-GKY’s role in transforming rural livelihoods through skill-based employment.
Girish Ranga, Senior General Manager, Gokaldas Exports, attended as the Special Invitee. Commending the alumni for their dedication and perseverance, he urged them to continually upgrade their skills and aspire for leadership roles in their respective professions.
Nabam Ompi, State Mission Manager (Mobilisation, Placement & Branding), DDU-GKY, ArSRLM, congratulated the participants on their achievements and encouraged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and sustained effort in their careers. She emphasized that their success stories reflect the growing impact of DDU-GKY in fostering socio-economic development in Arunachal Pradesh.
A felicitation ceremony honored 25 high-achieving alumni earning over Rs 25,000 per month for their exemplary performance. Additionally, 250 trained and placed youth from four Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs)—Dadi Hamgio Charitable Society (DHCS), Quess Corp, My Mother Charitable Trust (MMCT), and World Education Mission (WEM)—were recognized for their successful employment outcomes. Mementoes were also presented to the PIAs for their contribution to skill development.
To acknowledge industry partnerships, seven employers—Sahi Exports, Gokaldas Exports, Bharat Silk, Devinity Genesis, Westside, and Lulu India—were felicitated for supporting DDU-GKY’s placement initiatives and offering opportunities to trained youth from Arunachal Pradesh.
In his closing remarks, Johna Khiluju, Monitoring & Evaluation (Placement), ArSRLM, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their participation and reaffirmed the Mission’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihoods through skill development and industry collaboration.
The 7th Alumni Meet concluded on an inspiring note, celebrating the collective spirit of progress, empowerment, and rural transformation through skill, dignity, and opportunity.
Meanwhile, 22 trainees trained by World Education Mission (WEM) under the DDU-GKY project, attended the event in Bengaluru.
