Census 2027: Training for Enumerators commences in East Siang dist

PASIGHAT, Nov 4: As part of the process of Census 2027 in Arunachal Pradesh, a training programme (Nov 4-7) for Enumerators and Supervisors for Pre-Test of Houselisting Operation for selected wards (4 and 7) of Pasighat Municipal Council, East Siang district for urban areas, commenced at the Pasighat Smart City conference hall here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Census Charge Officer cum i/c MEO, Dr Manjuli Komut emphasized on the importance of conducting accurate Population Census for development planning and policy making. Pre-Test of Houselisting Operation will be conducted from November 10 to 30 in the selected areas of the district.

Deputy Director, Census Operations, Arunachal Pradesh, Utpal Sharma as Master trainer, while addressing the trainees, impressed upon them that the Census 2027 will be special in the sense that it will be conducted in purely digital mode.

Data collection from the field will be done with the help of specially designed mobile apps. Entire process of Census will be managed and monitored by Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS Portal). An option for the public will be available to record their details by themselves with the help of Self-Enumeration Portal which is already open with effect from 1st November, 2025 till 7th November, 2025. Residents of that area can opt for their self-enumeration during this period which will be finalized by the respective enumerator during their field visit wef 10th to 30th November, 2025.
