Itanagar, Nov 4: The Jan Andolan Anti-Corruption Movement of Arunachal Pradesh has announced that it will organize a rally in Itanagar on November 6 to press for its 26-point demand related to alleged corruption cases in the state.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, organizing chairman Nabam Tagam alleged that corruption in the state had “crossed all limits,” and claimed that even “the state’s executive head, Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s name is also in the list and a hearing is going on in the Supreme Court.”
Tagam said the Movement is demanding a social audit and a CBI inquiry into corruption allegations involving various departments and sectors across the state.
“Viewing the widespread corruption, the Jan Andolan Anti-Corruption Movement of Arunachal Pradesh had submitted a memorandum containing 26 points of demands related to corruption practices. However, till date, there has been no response from the state government,” he stated.
The organizing chairman urged citizens, social activists, and leaders of various organizations to participate in the upcoming rally to strengthen the movement’s call for accountability and transparency in governance.
