LIKABALI, Dec 14: Lower Siang district is all set for the Panchayat Raj Election 2025, as polling teams with materials have been dispatched for all 48 polling stations of the district for tomorrow’s PR polls.
Teams for Likabali, Gensi and Kangku Zilla Parishad constituencies were flagged off from Likabali DEO (PR) office complex and Teams for Koyu, Nari and Seren ZP segments were sent off from the ADC office complex, Nari by the Returning Officers, AROs and Nodal Officers, in presence of District Election Officer (PR) Rujjum Rakshap in a special flag off ceremony.
This time the district is going to poll for the 5 Zilla Parishad and 42 Gram Panchayat constituencies. The polling will commence tomorrow at 0700 hours and end by 1600 hrs as notified by the State Election Commission.
Altogether, 14,657 voters including 6717 male and 7940 female voters shall exercise their franchise for the 5 Zilla Parishad Member and 42 Gram Panchayat Member seats in the district out of a total of existing 7 ZPM and 85 GPM seats as the candidates for larger chunks of the seats have already been declared unopposed.
Meanwhile, polling personnel were briefed and allowed to check the polling materials and complete other mandatory paperwork by the District Election Officer (PR) in an exclusive event held yesterday at the district headquarters here.
SEPPA: East Kameng district is fully prepared to conduct the Panchayati Raj Election 2025 in a smooth, free, and fair manner. The election will be held simultaneously across the district in accordance with the schedule notified by the State Election Commission.
The State Election Commission issued the official notification for the Panchayati Raj Election on 17th November 2025, marking the commencement of the electoral process. As per the notified election programme, polling will take place on 15 December 2025.
All necessary administrative, logistical, and security arrangements have been put in place by the district administration under the guidance of the District Election Officer (PR) to ensure successful conduct of the election. Election officials have been deployed, and preparations are underway to facilitate a transparent, peaceful, and orderly polling process across all polling stations in the district.
The district administration has appealed to all eligible voters to actively participate in the democratic process and exercise their right to vote responsibly, thereby strengthening grassroots democracy. (DIPROs)
