Pasighat, Dec 20: The results of the Zilla Parishad Constituency (ZPC) elections for East Siang district were declared on Saturday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) sharing the seats.
Out of the 14 Zilla Parishad constituencies in the district, the BJP secured victories in eight seats, while the PPA won six seats.
Among the BJP winners, Miti Paron won the 03-Ruksin (I) seat by nine votes, while Tayang Darang was elected unopposed from 13-Ruksin (II). Tabir Tatan (Eko) recorded a decisive victory from 14-Mirem with a margin of 774 votes, and Annu Paboh won the 05-Oyan seat by 254 votes. Taying Tapak won from 15-Rani by 435 votes, Ruth Tabing Boko secured the 07-Bosing (II) seat by 79 votes, Olom Moyong won the 08-Bogong (I) seat by 29 votes, and Neena Megu won the 17-Monggu Banggo (II) seat by 78 votes.
The PPA candidates who emerged victorious include Ashok Nonag from 04-Bilat by 129 votes, Toni Siram from 06-Bosing (I) by 312 votes, Smti Ainam Saroh from 09-Bogong (II) by 123 votes, Amping Ratan from 10-Mebo Banggo (I) by 35 votes, Bomkom Tayeng from 16-Mebo Banggo (II) by 153 votes, and Smti Bapiyang Tayeng from 11-Monggu Banggo (I) by 136 votes.The election process in the district was conducted peacefully, with active participation from voters. The district administration congratulated all the elected Zilla Parishad Members and thanked polling personnel, security forces, and voters for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the elections.
Likabali: The counting of votes for the Panchayat Election 2025 in Lower Siang district commenced at 8 am on Saturday simultaneously at Likabali and Nari counting centres.
By evening, results for most Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat seats were declared. In the 02-Koyu Zilla Parishad constituency, Independent candidate Nyachi Koyu defeated BJP candidate Pakyor Koyu by a margin of 117 votes. The prestigious 09-Likabali ZPM seat was won by Independent candidate Karbi Nyodu, who defeated BJP’s Mirik Taipodia by 58 votes.
In the 09A-Kangku seat, Jumken Bole of the PPA defeated sitting ZPM Nichi Ngomle of the BJP by a decisive margin of 208 votes. In the 12-Seren ZP constituency, BJP candidate Mikir Doye defeated Independent candidate Bapu Nyodu by 156 votes, while in the 01-Nari ZP seat, BJP’s Pakmo Koyu defeated INC candidate Jige Bomjen by 32 votes.
Notably, the 10-Gensi and 10A-Sibe Zilla Parishad seats were won unopposed by BJP candidates Tadam Zirdo and Jomko Kena respectively. In the seven-member 22-Lower Siang Zilla Parishad, the BJP secured four seats, Independents two seats, and the PPA one seat.
Khonsa: The results of the Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) elections in Tirap district were declared on Saturday. BJP candidates secured victories in four constituencies, while Independent candidates won three seats. The winners include Yalik Lowang (BJP) from Deomali by 462 votes, Wanglem Thingnok (BJP) from Soha by 469 votes, Necha Wangsu (Independent) from Khonsa by 260 votes, Tumwang Lowang (Independent) from Khela-Bunting by 175 votes, Wanglee Rangyang (Independent) from Kapu by 170 votes, Najen Rangwang (BJP) from Lazu by 260 votes, and Nanhang Phuksa (BJP) from Tutnu by a margin of 720 votes.
The district administration stated that the election process was conducted peacefully and congratulated all the elected ZPMs, while thanking voters, polling personnel, and security forces for their cooperation.

Itanagar: Women & Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul extended her heartfelt congratulations to BJP candidates who secured victories in the Panchayat elections in Anjaw district.
She congratulated Chenumlu Khamblai (Hawai South), Barum Masong (Hawai North), Gogrem Hagabre (Changlagam Block), and Alemsi Kri (Manchal Block) on their emphatic mandates. She also congratulated Mantaw Bellai, who was elected unopposed from the Hayuliang–Goiliang constituency.
Stating that the results reflected the faith, unity, and vibrant democratic spirit of the people, Pul expressed gratitude to the citizens of Anjaw district for their trust and support. She said the mandate would further strengthen efforts towards inclusive development, progress, and the welfare of every village and citizen in the district.
