DNGC students Science study tour concludes on a positive note

ITANAGAR, Jan 16: A 16-member team of Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC), including one faculty Botem Moyong (Assistant Professor of Mathematics) and 15 BSc 5th Semester students, returned to the State headquarter after successfully undergoing a Science Study Tour 2025-26 to Guwahati & Shillong.

The 15 students from five Science departments included five of Botany, six from Zoology, two of Chemistry, and one each from Physics & Mathematics.

The main objective of the tour was to provide practical exposure and enhance the understanding of scientific concepts beyond the classroom for students. It aimed to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications and to encourage curiosity and scientific thinking among students.

During the tour, the team visited several important tourist spots, scientific and educational centres such as Assam Don Bosco University, National Science Centre, Planetarium, Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre, Nehru Park, Gauhati University, and Zubeen Garg Setu, in Assam’s Guwahati; and Botanical Survey of India, Umiam Lake, Elephant Falls, Shillong Peak, Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Cathedral, in Shillong, Meghalaya.

The Science Study Tour of DNGC, which is one of the best platforms for Science students that offer proper exposure, real-world experience, curiosity, critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, etc concluded successfully.

Meanwhile, the students have extended their warm gratitude to the faculty, Prof Moyong for his constant support and patience through the journey.
