ITANAGAR, Feb 17: A communication and leadership development workshop under the youth initiative Let’s Speak Arunachal, organized in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha of the State Education department, was held at the Govt Hr Sec School, Daring in Leparada district on Monday.
Students from GHSS Daring, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya (NSCBAV) Daring, Y R Memorial Public School Padi and PM Shri LP School Old Daring participated in the programme, which forms part of a month-long statewide outreach drive.
The participants said that such a workshop was being conducted in their area for the first time and thanked Let’s Speak Arunachal, the Education dept and local MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi for facilitating the initiative.
On the occasion, 20 students were awarded certificates, notebooks and pen sets for their performance in various speaking and leadership activities conducted during the session.
Founded by Porsum Ori, Let’s Speak Arunachal aims to complement formal education by strengthening students’ confidence, public-speaking ability and leadership skills. The workshop included modules such as guided presentations, role-plays, impromptu speaking and moderated debates to enhance communication, critical thinking and interview readiness.
Organisers said the programme emphasizes inclusion of students from remote, marginalised and specially-abled backgrounds.
Ori expressed gratitude to Commissioner Education Amjad Tak for supporting the initiative.
“The workshops aim to build a confident and socially responsible generation aligned with the vision of Viksit Arunachal and Viksit Bharat @2047,” she said.
