AALO, Sep 30: The Department of Youth Affairs (GoAP) organised a Nukkad Natak (street play) at the Old Market Street here today, marking the commencement of the initiative under NaMo Sewa, dedicated to promoting the spirit of service and public engagement associated with the service-oriented vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The programme was attended by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini, State BJP president Kaling Moyong, Namsai MLA-cum-Advisor to Minister Sports and Youth Affairs Zingnu Namchoom, and Director Youth Affairs Ramesh Lingi, besides other officials and participants.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Riken Ngomle, Assistant Professor (acting), National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. The young performers delivered an expressive and impactful presentation, effectively conveying the message of NaMo Sewa to the audience.
Through the medium of street theatre, the programme sought to connect directly with the public and communicate messages relating to service, social awareness, youth participation and responsible citizenship. The engaging performance drew attention and participation of people gathered at the venue.
The initiative highlights the important role of youth and performing arts in creating social awareness and strengthening community participation. Nukkad Natak, as a direct and accessible form of communication, provides an effective platform for young people to take meaningful messages to the grassroots.
