Govt is committed to provide safety, security to all denizens: Felix

ITANAGAR, Nov 8: Home Minister Bamang Felix stated that the Government is committed to provide safety and security to all citizens irrespective of any differences be it caste, colour, community and region etc.

Addressing the valedictory function of the XL Annual College Day celebration of Dera Natung Govt College here yesterday, Felix while highlighting the objectives of launching Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan (HAA) in the state asked every one especially the youths to contribute meaningfully for positive change in the society by involving themselves in this abhiyan.

He called upon the students to excel in life by studying hard saying there is no short cut to success. The co-curricular activities could certainly provide an opportunity for the youth to pave way to attain success in life, he added.

Dumporijo MLA Rode Bui called upon the students to follow the “guru shishya parampara” (teacher-disciple relationship) as now a days there are moral degradation especially amongst the youngsters. Teachers are the builders of society and therefore, they deserve proper recognition and respect, he felt.

Organized from November 4 to 7, in this year’s celebration the students were divided into four houses namely Hollong, Orchid, Hornbill and Mithun - signifying the importance of nature, deriving a particular species from tree, flower, bird and animal which are quite popular in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The students were allowed to compete in different categories of co-curricular activities viz sports & games, cultural and literary activities.

Felix and Bui along with other dignitaries distributed prizes to the winners of different categories. The award of best disciplined house went to Hornbill, while the Orchid was adjudged as champion.
