Kaso urges medical fraternity to create awareness on staying healthy

NAHARLAGUN, Nov 14: Local MLA Techi Kaso while stating that exercise is the most important tool to keep ourselves fit and fine has called upon the medical fraternity to create mass awareness in this regard so that maximum people get advantage of exercise to remain healthy and live a long life.

While flagging off the cyclers on the occasion of the World Diabetes Day celebration at the premises of Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) here this morning, Kaso emphasized saying “health is wealth”.

He said that we can earn and learn everything but if we lose health we may lose everything, and so, it is high time we save our life by staying healthy so that we may lead a peaceful and happy life without any disease.

TRIHMS Director Dr Moji Jini said we are there to give better treatment to the needy people but it is they who should always try to remain fit and fine and that is only possible if they continue to make exercise and maintain their health.

Everyone should know that exercise is good to stay fit and healthy. There are different types of exercise and best one is cycling and walking. Today cycling is merely a symbolic one and it would motivate many, he said and urged upon all to maintain diet and food habit.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) state unit president said that we need to remain fit and stay away from several diseases by going through daily exercise.

Around 50 doctors from TRIHMS and members of IMA took part in cycling race from Naharlaugn to Nirjuli and back.

On the day the eye specialists from both TRIHMS and RK Mission Hospital carried out free eye screenings and distributed medicines to the needy patients.
