Abotani SC of Arunachal emerge overall champion in ‘NESOJ Sports Meet’

JALANDHAR, Nov 14: North East Students’ Organization Jalandhar (NESOJ), Punjab successfully organized the 7th Edition of its ‘Annual Games and Sports Meet’ which concluded on November 12 last.

The event was organized with a sole motive to foster unity, understanding and rapport among the students of North East India studying in Punjab.

Like every year, the event witnessed active dedication and participation from the students of all eight NE states.

Addressing the gathering, National Commission for Women (NCW) Member Soso Shaiza called upon the students not only to excel in sports but also to concentrate on their academics as well.

Rinlungso Zas, president NESOJ launched the event, which aims to promote sports culture by building unity among the eight states of NE with a motto of Strong Northeast, Stronger India.

The Abotani SC representing the state of Arunachal Pradesh emerged as the overall champion while the best athlete male and best athlete female award went to Lalrozama Ralte and Tovikali K Chophy from Mizoram and Nagaland respectively.

The event was sponsored by Pilot Sports, Jalandhar and co-sponsored by Metsuben Wedding Planner, Dimapur and Tsukhru Design, Kohima with support from Club Twenty.
