Traffic diversion at Naharlagun

ITANAGAR, Jan 11: A review meeting regarding traffic situation in Naharlagun was today held by SP Capital M Harsha Vardhan along with EAC Rinchin Leta, SDPO (Naharlagun) Rike Kamsi, Naharlagun police station OC K Yangfo and other officers.

It was decided that a major traffic diversion will be put in place on the highway on a trial basis with an aim to improve the flow of traffic on the highway. The trial will be done from 9 am on 12th January (Saturday).

The SP appealed to all the residents to cooperate in the trial run of the diversion scheme. Depending on the outcome of the trial, further decision about the scheme will be taken, he informed. 

For traffic coming from Itanagar side: Between G-Extension cut and Post Office point, the highway will be a one-way for them. They can take one of the side roads on the left which will take them to rejoin the highway near Hotel Tosum.

For traffic coming from Banderdewa side: Between Hotel Tosum and Post Office point will be one-way for them. They will take compulsory left at Hotel Chandni and rejoin highway at G-Extension cut. This is just a trial tomorrow to see if it works out or not.
