Five new COVID-19 cases detected, one recovers

ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The State in the last 24 hours registered five new Covid-19 cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 187, of which 125 are active cases and 61 have already recovered with one casualty, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) here this evening.
Of the five cases registered in two districts, three are from Changlang and two of Itanagar Capital Complex.
On Monday five COVID-19 positives reported from Changlang (three) and ICC (two), two cases of ICC were detected from the CCC (Covid Care Centre), Lekhi, who are frontline workers and they are both asymptomatic, according to the DHS bulletin.
Samples of primary contacts are collected for testing, informed the DHS.
The Changlang cases have returned from Tamil Nadu (two) and Uttar Pradesh (one).
On the brighter side, today one positive case was released from Changlang as the test results were negative for two consecutive samples as per SOP and advised for strict 14 days home quarantine and self monitoring, further stated the DHS.
Our Staff REPORTER adds: Of the two cases of ICC who tested positive for the virus at Lekhi SQC, one is a medical attendant and the other one is a store keeper in control room.
Mystery behind the cases is that both the patients had no direct contact with any positive or even a travel history at all, informed a doctor.
This ‘development’ is scary, he added.
Apparently, both the infected worked at the PTC three weeks back too.
