In a single day highest spike, State detects 37 Covid cases, 5 recover

ITANAGAR, Jul 2: The State, in a single day highest spike, on Thursday registered 37 new Covid-19 cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 232, of which 160 are active cases and 71 have already recovered with one casualty, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) here late this evening.

Of the 37 fresh cases recorded in the last 24 hours in three districts, 34 are from Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC), two are from Changlang and one is of Namsai.

The ICC positive cases have returned from Assam (15), Bihar (5), Manipur (2), Uttar Pradesh (2), Odisha (2), Delhi (2), Haryana (1), Rajasthan (1), Kerala (1), Chandigarh (1) and Karnataka (1), while the cases from Changlang have returned from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, and the case from Namsai is a returnee from Tamil Nadu and being shifted to CCC (Covid Care Centre), stated the DHS bulletin.

All the cases have been detected from FQ (facility quarantine) and all are asymptomatic, it added.

On the optimistic front, today five positive cases were released after their recovery, which include four cases from Changlang district and one of Tirap district. They have been discharged as their test results were negative for two consecutive samples as per SOP and advised for strict 14 days home quarantine and self monitoring, further stated the DHS.

Meanwhile, TrueNat Lab has started testing for COVID-19 in Tawang today. 19 samples were tested and all were negative.

At BPGH, Pasighat, 82 samples have been tested by TrueNat since last three days. All had tested negative, according to the DHS bulletin.
