ITANAGAR, Jul 31: State nodal officer for Covid-19, Dr L Jampa today informed that at least seven wards under Itanagar Municipal Council have not reported any Covid-19 positive case in the last 10 days.

These wards include No 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11.

Addressing an online press conference this evening, Dr Jampa expressed hope that if the trend continues, the chain of local transmission in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) will soon be broken.

Also taking the instance of Thursday when there was recovery of 150 patients while 74 cases were detection throughout the State, he said that the recovery rate has now surpassed that of active cases.

“We have been able to diagnose without much delay,” he said.

Dr Jampa also informed that Arunachal ranks first in the entire North East region in terms of samples tests conducted so far.

On the recommendation for home isolation of asymptomatic cases to be decided by the state cabinet on Saturday, he said that not all asymptomatic patients will be eligible for the same.

“Inspection will be done on the suitability of the stay. The room has to have proper ventilation with separate bathroom. And the patient should not be immune-compromised with co-morbid condition. It will be decided on case to case basis,” Dr Jampa, who is also the state surveillance officer, said on the condition for home isolation.

Speaking about non-cooperation of the public for testing in the past few days, Dr Jampa said that people should understand that not everyone is dying of Covid-19 and 90 percent plus Covid positive cases of our state have been asymptomatic so far.
