Man who killed a minor boy convicted, sentenced to 10 yrs imprisonment

BASAR, Jul 31: A man, accused of killing a minor boy, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after being convicted by the court of law in the murder case.

The District and Sessions Court, Basar convicted one Kenbom Dirchi under sections 302 and 307 of IPC and sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years with a fine of Rs 1500.

On 8th July 2019, an FIR was registered at PS Basar by Karbi Gara, w/o Toli Gara, village Dali & PO/PS Basar that her six-year-old son Lijo Gara went missing on the same day.

In this connection, an investigation led by Inspector Token Dubi was launched after which the accused Kenbom Dirchi was detained, who later confessed to the brutal murder where the minor was buried alive in a pit, dug at the village playground by the accused.

Subsequently, the accused also confessed to attempting to murder two more minors - one by attempting to smother with a pillow and another by forcefully trying to drown in an aluminum barrel.

The accused pleaded guilty to all charges and on completion of the trial, Tage Halley, Addl District and Sessions Judge, Basar convicted the accused Kenbom Dirchi under sections 302 and 307 of IPC and sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years and to pay a fine of Rs 1500. (DIPRO)
