ITANAGAR, Aug 1: Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra along with his wife Neelam Misra underwent reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for COVID-19 in the Health department’s kiosk at Hotel Donyi Polo Ashoka here today.
“Following a case through ‘contact tracing’, the Governor, his better half and officials of Raj Bhavan, Itanagar had to undergo the RT-PCR test as a precautionary protocol,” stated a communique here.
The Governor, while availing the facility for COVID-19 testing here, appreciated the frontline workers, especially the medical staff and police personnel for their untiring effort in meeting the pandemic challenge. He called upon the people to cooperate with the district administration, police and the medical teams involved in the battle against COVID-19.
The Governor reiterated that it is the responsibility of every citizen to take necessary precaution to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. He urged upon the people to maintain social distancing, use face mask and frequently wash hands with soap or sanitizer.
