Student leader dies in road mishap


KANUBARI, Sep 15: The Wancho Students' Union (WSU) assistant general secretary Wangchai Wangsu, a native of Longhua village in Longding district, died in a road accident on Monday. He was also the general secretary of NEHRO, Longding district unit.
WSU president Pongngoi Joham informed that the mishap occurred when Wangsu was travelling to Assam on a hired vehicle bearing registration No. AS 04Q 0333 from Sapekhati Chariali and the vehicle reportedly skidded off the road after hitting one parked vehicle on the roadside while trying to avoid stray cattle on the road. He was then evacuated to AMC Dibrugarh where he was declared brought dead.
“It is so sad to know the sudden and untimely death of Wangchai Wangsu, AGS, Wancho Students' Union. My sincere prayer is to give eternal peace to the departed soul of Wangchai Wangsu in heavenly kingdom. May God also give strength and energy to his bereaved family members to boldly overcome the saddest and painful moment,” Minister for RWD Honchun Ngandam said in a condolence message.
Kanubari MLA G D Wangsu said, "Am deeply shocked to learn of untimely demise of Wangchai Wangsu, AGS, WSU. A very soft spoken and of amiable nature, late Wangchai Wangsu was very sincere and hardworking youth leader. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and sincerely pray for peace of the departed soul."
Condoling the death, Longding MLA Tanpho Wangnaw said, "Very unfortunate decision of Almighty to take away Wangchai Wangsu, AGS WSU in this energetic young age from this beautiful world. His service and contribution towards Society as student leader is most remarkable. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray for peace of the departed soul in heavenly abode.”
The whole civil societies of Wancho mourned his untimely demise. Longding DC Cheshta Yadav, SP B B Reddy and the WSU president also mourned his death.
