State records 2 more COVID-19 deaths

ITANAGAR, Sep 15: The State on Tuesday registered two more COVID-19 casualties as two patients with co-morbidity succumbed to the infection. With this, the tally of fatalities from the deadly virus rose to 13.
Both the deaths were reported from Changlang district, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said, adding that both patients, including a lady, had tested positive for the virus through rapid antigen tests.
He said the 63-year-old woman (non-APST) hailing from Miao was suffering from chronic asthma and gastritis. She was referred to District Hospital, Tezu on Sept 13 and was subsequently referred to Dedicated COVID Hospital, Pasighat due to low SPO2. Bud sadly, she died on the way to Pasighat.
The second patient, a 52-year-old man (non-APST) hailing from Kharsang who was suffering from terminal stage lung cancer died at his home, the SSO said.
Meanwhile, the State recorded 170 new positive cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 6466, which included 1795 active and 4658 discharged cases, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here.
The State also saw release of 127 patients from various health facilities across the State following their recovery from the viral infection.
Of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum of 87 cases, including 26 from paid quarantine testing centre at Itanagar, 25 from TRIHMS, Naharlagun, 17 from Banderdewa check gate, eight from Itanagar-based Heema Hospital, five from RKMH, three from CCC-SOA, Zoo area and three from SQF, Lekhi.
Papum Pare detected 17 cases, including five from Hollongi check gate, four each from Gumto and Kimin check gates and remaining four being ITBP personnel from Tigdo, Yupia detected at a quarantine facility (QF).
West Kameng found 15 cases with 11 of them being military personnel detected at QF, three were detected from Bhalukpong check gate and one is primary contact of positive case detected earlier, while Changlang detected 10 cases with three of them are Assam Rifles personnel detected at QF, ‘2’ IRBN personnel, ‘2’ returnees from Delhi & Gujarat and ‘3’ were detected at Miao township.
Seven cases each came from Tawang and Lower Subansiri, as Lower Dibang Valley and East Siang reported five cases each. West Siang and Longding reported four each, while Namsai, Tirap, Lohit and Upper Subansiri found two cases each and Pakke-Kessang one.
Of the newly infected patients, 140 were found to be asymptomatic and 30 symptomatic, as per the bulletin. Among the total recovered/discharged cases, Itanagar Capital Complex saw off 56 cured patients, followed by West Siang (14), West Kameng (13) and Longding (10).
Lower Dibang Valley discharged nine cases, and Lohit and Changlang six each. Tawang released four cases, while Leparada, East Siang and Kurung Kumey reported two recoveries each, and Lower Siang, Shi-Yomi and Upper Subansiri one each.
