State records 244 recoveries, 179 fresh positive cases

ITANAGAR, Oct 17: The State, for a change, today saw the number of recoveries exceeding the COVID cases after quite a long period.

As many as 244 Corona patients were sent home post their recovery from the virus, taking the number of discharged cases to 10,315. On the contrary, 179 positive cases were found during the past 24 hours, swelling the tally of confirmed cases to 13,348. Besides, 30 persons have fallen prey to COVID-19 so far, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.

Of the total recovered/discharged, Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 85 cured cases. Anjaw came second with 41 cases, followed by Tirap at 23. West Siang discharged 20, East Siang 18, Leparada 11 and Upper Subansiri 10.  Changlang sent home nine, Lower Dibang Valley six, Upper Siang, Lohit, Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri (four each), Kurung Kamey found two cured cases, while West Kameng, Namsai and Kra Daadi came up with one each.

Meanwhile,  ICC contracted 77 cases including 12 detections from Paid Quarantine testing centre, Itanagar, two from Flu Clinic, RKMH,  Itanagar, six from  testing centre, CCC-SOA, Zoo area, Itanagar, four from Flu Clinic, Heema Hospital, Itanagar, 29 from Central Jail, Jully, Itanagar, 15 from Flu Clinic, TRIHMS, Nlg, four from Flu Clinic, Niba Hospital, Nlg, one from Testing Centre, SQF, Lekhi, two from Frontier Diagnostic Pvt Lab, Nlg and one each from Helipad and Banderdewa check gate.

Of 21 E/Siang cases, 14 were reported from Flu Clinic, BPGH-Pasighat, six are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier and one is military  personnel.

In Namsai-11, five each were found from Flu Clinic, DH-Namsai and check gate, and one from Flu Clinic, CHC-Chowkham.

Seven of 10 W/Siang cases are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier, two are returnees from ICR and one came from Flu Clinic, GH-Aalo.

In rest of the cases, L/Subansiri recorded nine, Changlang seven, Lohit six, U/Subansiri and Tirap five each. U/Siang and LDV registered four cases each, Anjaw and Dibang Valley (three each), W/Kameng, Siang, Longding, P/Pare and Leparada (two each), L/Siang and Kra Daadi one each.

153 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and the rest of 26 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.
