2 more LSCS operations of Covid patients successfully done at DCH Pasighat

PASIGHAT, Oct 17: Doctors from Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH), Pasighat successfully performed two more LSCS operations of COVID-19 positive patients at the Dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH), North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIFM) here for the second consecutive day today.

On Friday, the first ever surgery on a Corona patient, Lukjum Jilen (38), was performed at the DCH here by a team of doctors, nursing officers and supporting staff from BPGH, Pasighat.

The patient of advanced pregnancy requiring surgical intervention was successfully operated by the team and consequently blessed by a healthy female baby. She was referred from Yingkiong, Upper Siang and was admitted to the DCH on Thursday.

On Saturday, two more LSCS operations of Covid positive patients - Toter Kaye (29) from Jarku, Pasighat (admitted on 16th Oct) and Tumjum Ete (35) from Aalo (admitted on 15th) – were successfully conducted by the doctors at DCH, and reportedly mothers and babies are doing well.

East Siang DMO Dr Kaling Dai informed that these (caesarean section) were tough procedure with suffocating and poor visibility of PPEs to the operating doctors but they successfully accomplished the tasks creating history.

He congratulated the serving team for saving the lives of mothers and their babies by risking their own lives in a pandemic situation. Their guts and grit set a benchmark for all service providers and reignite the true spirit of serving the people in need, he added. (DIPRO)
