State’s COVID tally surges past 16k-mark

ITANAGAR, Nov 20: The State, continuing its march towards getting Coronavirus free, on Friday recorded 25 new positive cases and also sent home as many as 70 patients post their recovery from the infection.

With the addition of the fresh infections, the tally of confirmed cases has gone past 16,000 (16,001 to be precise) that included 1,082 active and 14,870 discharged cases coupled with 49 fatalities, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.

West Kameng, for a change, accounted for five infections, as Itanagar Capital Complex and West Siang followed with four each. Changlang registered three, while Tawang and East Siang did two each. Pakke Kessang, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Lower Dibang Valley and Upper Siang came up with one positive case each.

Eighteen of the new cases were found to be asymptomatic and the remaining seven as symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Of the total recovered/discharged cases, Itanagar Capital Complex contributed the lion’s share with 30 recoveries. East Siang discharged eight, Shi-Yomi seven and Changlang five.

Lower Dibang Valley, Upper Subansiri and Tirap saw off three cured cases each, while Pakke Kessang, Lower Subansiri and Papumpare did two each. West Siang, Tawang, Anjaw, East Kameng and West Kameng sent home one patient each.
