RONO HILLS, Nov 20: The three-day online training programme on child centric disaster risk reduction (CCDRR) organized by the Department of Education, Rajiv Gandhi University in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), New Delhi concluded today.
Attending the valedictory programme, RGU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Amitava Mitra focused on the damages made by different types of disaster and also the impact of such disasters on child’s mental health and emotions.
Registrar Dr NT Rikam, in his speech, dwelt on the vulnerability of children during disaster and also the need of preparedness to face the disaster which is unpredictable in nature.
Prof Santosh Kumar, head, CCDRR, NIDM, in his valedictory speech, spoke about the challenges that people are facing in their day to day life due to various disasters and reminded them of the capacity building of people to mitigate such challenges effectively.
Earlier, Dr Prasanta Kumar Barik, Asstt Professor, Dept of Education (RGU) presented a brief report about the online training programme on CCDRR.
