Orientation for RAWE held at HU

ITANAGAR, Nov 21: The Department of Agriculture, Himalayan University here organized a one-day orientation program for RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience), which was inaugurated by Dr Vivek Mittal, Registrar of the University.

Dr Mittal, in his inaugural address, said that during the RAWE students should help the farmers of their village in increasing the yield.

HoD, Agriculture, Dr Raja Husain explained the mechanism of RAWE dissertation work for BSc (Agri) final year students and how the students must work during the RAWE project. He said that every student will select at least a single farmer of rural area, KVK and agriculture industries and collect the data according to ICAR guidelines of RAWE so that they could learn the updated and reliable approaches and apply for benefitting the farmers and human welfare for developing the agriculture system. He also talked about the biotic stress management in Arunachal farming areas and gave suggestions to increase the crop production.

The students also shared their plans regarding RAWE. They were determined that they will be able to change the life of people in their respective villages during the RAWE program.
