ITANAGAR, Nov 21: The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) today requested the State Govt as well as the State Election Commission to exempt the teachers, engaged in teaching the class X & XII students, from doing election duties during the forthcoming elections to the Municipalities and the Panchayat Raj Institutions.

In a representation to the Chief Secretary, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, the State Govt employees’ apex body noted that if the teachers, teaching the class X & XII students are engaged in the said elections, their classes will be badly hampered, which will result in poor performance in the 2021 CBSE examinations. It pointed out that the classes of X and XII students have just started from November 16 after it was suspended in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

The representation said, “The CoSAAP, on behalf of State Govt employees’ fraternity, parents and students, requests the State Govt and State Election Commission to exempt the teachers, who are engaged in teaching the classes X & XII from the ensuing elections.”
