36 more test positive, 67 recover

ITANAGAR, Nov 21: The State on Saturday recorded 36 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 16,037, while with the release of 67 positive patients following their recovery from the infection took the number of recovered cases to 14,937, stated a bulletin from the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.  

Of the new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex and East Siang accounted for nine each, while Changlang, Siang, West Kameng and Leparada reported three cases each. West Siang, Lohit, Lower Siang, Anjaw, Tawang and Lower Dibang Valley detected one positive case each.

Twenty-nine of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and seven symptomatic.

The newly-infected patients included three security personnel – one each from East Siang, Changlang and West Kameng, as the bulletin.

On the other hand, with the discharge of 67 cured patients, including 20 in Itanagar Capital Complex and 11 in Shi-Yomi, during the past 24 hours pushed the recovery rate to 93.14 per cent.

In yet another positive sign, the number of active COVID-19 cases has declined to 1051, with 964 of them recuperating under home isolation. The positivity rate now stands at 6.86 per cent, while the death toll remained at 49.

The State has so far tested 3,50,020 samples, including 1,060 on Saturday, for the virus.
