Javadekar lashes out at TRS for unkept poll promises

Hyderabad, Nov 22: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar on Sunday went hammer and tongs against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for its failure to fulfill the poll promises.
Speaking to media after releasing a "30-charge sheet" in the form of a printed booklet on the alleged failures of the TRS and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in the administration of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and the development of the city, Javedekar said contrary to the TRS promise of developing Hyderabad into a global city the city had turned into a "flood city" during the recent floods.
He said the city was submerged under flood water for 15 days following the recent heavy rains because of the government's failure to develop a proper drainage system adding that the TRS had promised to develop the city investing over Rs 67,000 crores but without providing any documents in this regard.
He criticised the TRS government's failure to keep its promise to provide two-bedroom houses to the poor by constructing one lakh houses but so far only a little over one thousand two-bed room houses were constructed.
Javadekar charged that the half of the Rs 10,000 relief announced by the government for the affected people in the heavy rains-ravaged Hyderabad went into the pockets of TRS cadres.
He said that the TRS and the AIMIM would become friends after the December one GHMC polls are out.
Javadekar said the charge sheet consists of 60 issues including 10 main issues relating to TRS corruption and failure to develop Hyderabad city into Global city besides non-fulfillment of poll promises during the last 6-years.
He said if the people vote for TRS or even for Congress, that will go to AIMIM and voting for AIMIM means voting for division.
So, the people have to decide that this time, the mayor of BJP or AIMIM, he said if they vote for TRS, the mayor will be by AIMIM.
Alleging that TRS and AIMIM were indulging in lakh-crore corruption, he said the main challenge in the GHMC election was whether to form the mayor from AIMIM or BJP.
He alleged that the assets of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and his family are increasing but the assets of the state government are decreasing.
AIMIM led Asaduddin Owaisi having its own hospital but not serving to the poor people and even for poor musalmaan also, he alleged
The ruling TRS party is collecting funds from the public in the name of ‘LRS’, he alleged.
BJP State President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP National Vice-President and former Minister DK Aruna, Parliament Member Dharmapuri Arvind and BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr K Laxman, State Vice-President Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and senior leader of the party participated in the release of the charge sheet.
After releasing the chargesheet, the Union Minister participated in a door-to-door election campaign at Filmnagar Basti in the city for the December 1 GHMC elections. (UNI)
