KHONSA, Feb 10: Losar, one of most colourful festivals of Monpas and Sherdukpens, was celebrated at Tirap House here in a befitting manner.
Traditional Losar dance performed by Sherdukpens and Monpas marked the celebration.
While greeting the people on the occasion, Tirap DC P N Thungon, who was also the host of the occasion, read out the mythology of Losar and its celebration and wished all for peace, brotherhood and long life for all humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, Tirap Chief Council president and Chief of Kaimai, Khamwang Lowang said that the Sherdukpens and Monpas are hardworking, having rich traditional culture and mild nature, and called upon others to emulate.
SP Tirap J K Meena, CO 16 AR Col Robin Kumar, Chief of Bera Bewang Lowang, president Tirap Gaon Burahs’ Association and public leaders from different villages among others attended.
