Sadbhavana Diwas to boost civil-military bonhomie

ITANAGAR, Feb 11: In a bid to create awareness amongst the youths regarding job opportunities in Indian armed forces and boost civil-military bonhomie, the Indian Army is organizing Sadbhavana Diwas at Jang under the aegis of East Tawang Brigade of Blazing Sword Division on February 16 and 17 next.

Jang is a small town located in Tawang district with an approx population of about 25,000 encompassing 22 small and large villages.

The Sadbhavana Diwas at Jang will be a joint civil-military event that would coincide with 12th & 13th day of Losar Festival and is planned to be held as an annual affair each year with 2019 as inaugural year. The event is expected to have Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.

The major activities planned during Sadbhavana Diwas are presentations by civil and military cultural troupes, folk dance, marathon, archery, symphony of military pipe and jazz band, med camp and civil and military information stalls.

The Sadbhavana Diwas would truly showcase the spirit and bonhomie of civil- military relations and motivate the youth in the area to join armed forces. It will not only mobilize the youth towards nation building but also be a major milestone towards generating greater bonding between army and local population.
