2 alleged drug peddlers arrested in Changlang

ITANAGAR, Feb 11: The Changlang Police has arrested two alleged drug peddlers, including a police constable, and recovered contraband from them.

Continuing its drive against the drug peddling, the Changlang Police arrested the two persons namely, Mingsam Ngemu, who is a police constable and one Dihom Kitnya, informed the district’s Deputy Superintendent of Police N Ete.

Acting on specific inputs regarding presence of drug peddlers at Changlang township, a team of police led by SI Sunny Wangsu conducted a naka/checking near the Changlang police station at 8 pm on Sunday. During checking, the two persons suspected to be drug peddlers arrived at the spot and accordingly, they were stopped. When thoroughly searched, police recovered suspected contraband (brown sugar) in three small plastic pouches weighing about 15 grams which was hidden inside the right shoe socks of Ngemu.

Accordingly, the suspected contraband was seized on the spot and both peddlers were arrested following registration of a case under the provision of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the SP informed, adding that investigation is on.
