ITANAGAR, Sep 9: The third edition of popular mixed martial arts (MMA) event, Aturto 2.2, will be held at Poi Pee Mau Ground, Namsai on Saturday next.
This was informed by Aturto founder and CEO Higio Tarak during a news conference at the Arunachal Press Club here on Monday.
“This highly anticipated event promises to be a showcase of raw talent and fierce competition, spotlighting local and amateur fighters in a high-octane battle for glory,” he said.
Tarak said that a total of 11 matches are lined up for the event, with 22 fighters from across the North East region, including representatives from Meghalaya, Manipur, and a seasoned pro from Mizoram.
“But the real excitement lies in the four homegrown fighters from Namsai, who will step into the octagon with the crowd's cheers ringing in their ears. These local heroes will have the chance to shine on their home turf and make a name for themselves on a broader stage. And our motive to hold this event in districts is to give a platform to local fighters from the districts,” he said.
“The organizers have set the stage for a dynamic showcase and they are committed to giving exceptional performers the recognition they deserve. The aim is to elevate standout fighters to star status, providing them with opportunities to further their career in the sport,” Tarak stated.
The Aturto founder further stated that in response to popular demand, the event will also showcase Muay Thai fights.
