PASIGHAT, Sep 30: DD ICDS Cell, WCD Department organized a tree plantation programme on the twin themes of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’- ‘Clean & Green Anganwadi Centre’ to mark the successful conclusion of the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah at Napit AWC Poshan Garden in East Siang district today.
DD ICDS Machi Gao also inaugurated a ‘Phalse Poshan Garden’ (Nutrition Garden) of Napit I and II Anganwadi Centre (AWC) and planted fruit saplings along with HoDs of stakeholder departments, DDSE Odhuk Tabing, DRCHO Dr N Angu, GPC Napit and CDPO Pasighat Kaling Moyong among others.
PRI members, GPC Napit, Supervisors, Anganwadi workers (AWWS) & Anganwadi helpers (AWHs), and field staff also planted ‘fruit’ saplings.
On the successful conduct of Poshan Maah, the DD-ICDS stated that a wide range of activities were taken up in Ruksin, Mebo, Pasighat ICDS Projects’ all AWCs to promote health and nutrition of the community, children and women.
Recipe competitions, tree plantation, growth monitoring of children, village health sensitization, Poshan bhi Padhai bhi, complementary feeding, overall nutrition awareness for holistic nourishment etc were organized during the Poshan Maah which concluded today. (DIPRO)
