BASAR, Sep 30: A meeting of Leparada District TB Forum (DTBF) was convened by the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), West Siang district (undivided) here at the DC’s conference hall today.
The meeting was chaired by Ejum Angu in-charge Deputy Commissioner Leparada) and attended by the members of District TB Forum, HoDs, staff of TU- Basar and NTEP, Aalo.
Making his observation, the in-charge DC said that social stigma and taboos associated with TB is also a hurdle, and therefore, creating general awareness on this aspect is also essential to get greater coverage under the programme.
He also urged all the members and HoDs to cooperate with the NTEP to eliminate TB by the year 2025 and for ensuring TB Mukt Panchayat. Further, he suggested the members of the District TB Forum come up with new ideas and suggestions during the next meeting of the District TB Forum enabling better implementation of NTEP in the district.
Dr Nyade Padu Bagra, DTO Aalo presented the activities under NTEP and shared the challenges and solutions to move forward in line with the Govt’s target to eliminate TB by the year 2025.
She also presented brief aspects and key activities which will be taken up with support of the District TB Forum under the NTEP this year. She appealed to all HoDs of Leparada to cooperate with the NTEP for TB Mukt Panchayat activities and Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Abhiyan.
Through a PPT District Programme Coordinator Kenjum Riba elaborated the Nikshay portal, facilities and schemes under Nikshay Mitra.
Among others, DMO Leparada Dr Emo Basar also presented a brief overview of the status in Leparada district. As part of encouragement, Nikshay Mitras, TB champion/relatives were also felicitated during the meeting. (DIPRO)
