One house gutted in fire mishap at Komkar Rasing village

YINGKIONG, Oct 1: In a tragic fire mishap that occurred on Monday) night, the dwelling house of one Otum Boko from Komkar Rasing village under Geku sub-division in Upper Siang district was gutted completely.

The fire, suspected to be caused by an electric short circuit that took place at around 10.30 pm, also partially damaged the dwellings of several others namely Okeng Siram, Kancha Tamang, Osor Boko, Sung Boko, Kabom Siram and a Self Help Group office.

No causality was reported. However, all valuable belongings, including important official documents were burnt into ashes.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang visited the accident spot to take stock of the situation and interacted with the affected families.

The DC also provided Rs 5000 each as an immediate relief and directed the concerned administrative officer to assess the loss caused by the fire and submit the report to pave the way for financial compensation as per the SDRF guidelines. (DIPRO)
