Blood donation camp organized at Subansiri Lower Project

Gerukamukh, Oct 1: Following the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized today by NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydro-Electric Project (SLHEP) at the Project Hospital, Gerukamukh.

Twenty-seven donors have voluntarily donated their blood in today’s camp, which was organized in coordination with District Civil Hospital, Dhemaji and Lions Club, Silapathar. A number of volunteers with rare blood groups have also registered for donating their blood as and when required.

This voluntary blood donation camp organized under the theme “Celebrating 20 years of giving: Thank you blood donors’, was inaugurated by Executive Director, Subansiri Lower HE Project, Rajendra Prasad in presence of senior officials of NHPC, CISF as well as local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad said that blood donation is a highly noble gesture which has many benefits. He praised the donors who had come forward to donate their blood.

Besides NHPC employees, CISF personnel posted at Subansiri Lower Project as well as other residents of Project township also donated their blood on the occasion.
