Focus will be on preventive and primary healthcare at grassroots, says Wahge while inspecting BPGH

PASIGHAT, Oct 30: Health & Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge today visited BPGH & TC, Pasighat and made an inspection of the hospital premises viz District integrated Public Health laboratory, ICU, Dialysis center, Labour room, OT, Blood Bank etc.

As a token of solidarity with the admitted poor patients in the ward, the Minister donated fruits to all.

During the consultative meeting held at the conference room with the doctors and the paramedical workers, Wahge admitted that his purpose of visit was to identify problems in respect of working conditions and availability of logistics. He informed the house that his initiative of the Mega Health Mela which was conducted on 1st October 2024 in the entire state was an attempt to identify the ‘commonest’ prevailing disease in the State.

He also informed the gathering that his focus will be on preventive and primary healthcare at grassroots level. He opined that if health seeking behaviours are inculcated at village level there will be improvement in the living standards.

Local MLAs Tapi Darang and Ninnong Ering who attended the meeting also extended their ‘support’ to the visiting minister.

Shri Marge Sora MD NHM in his word of advice requested all concerned to work harder for upliftment of Key performance indicators.

DMO East Siang Dr Komling Perme presented an overview of the health sector of the district and also apprised the Minister about the need for bringing amendments in APHS (Arunachal Pradesh Health Service) Rules 2000, delay in conduct of DPC and implementation of DACP (Dynamic Assured Career Progression) scheme.

Earlier, Dr Talung Tali, Jt DHS BPGH, highlighted the issues faced in managing the hospital. (DIPRO)
