Guv extends Sarok Festival greetings

Itanagar, Jan 10: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended his greetings to the people of the State on the eve of Sarok Festival of the Aka (Hrusso) community of West Kameng district. He expressed hope that the celebration would bring peace, prosperity, and happiness in everyone’s life.

In his message, the Governor said festivals foster diversity, creativity, and civic pride, contributing significantly to our overall psychological well-being.

The Sarok Festival marvellously reflects the Hrusso community's profound connection with nature. It embodies the core values of their socio-cultural heritage and serves as a tribute to their ancestors, who personify the tribe’s traditions and values.

Such festivals strengthen our moral fabric and play a vital role in preserving and passing down our rich cultural heritage and customs, he said.

“On this sacred occasion, I join my Hrusso brethren in offering prayers to the Almighty for the well-being and prosperity of all,” the Governor said in his message.
