ITANAGAR, Feb 3: State BJP president Kaling Moyong has termed the Union Budget 2025-26 as “people-friendly”, saying it is middle class and lower middle class budget.
Addressing the media on Union Budget at the party headquarters here today, Moyong appreciated PM Modi-led NDA Govt at the Centre for presenting the budget 2025-26 by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sithiraman, and described it as ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, which covers for the welfare of all sections of people.
While highlighting the union budget, he said that income tax relief in Budget 2025-26 is “betting big on the middle class”. The proposed revised tax rates, which highlights that income up to Rs 12 lakh will draw zero income tax rates, has won the heart of Indian middle class. “It is truly a thoughtful gesture,” he added.
The State BJP chief said that yet another feature about the Budget is the facelift given to the UDAN Scheme. The Centre now plans to launch a modified version of the UDAN Scheme, which aims to enhance regional connectivity to 120 new destinations in the country including the State of Arunachal Pradesh, benefitting places like Holongi, Pasighat, Tezu etc under this scheme, he said.
Speaking on ‘culture and tradition’ coverage in the budget, Moyong said that a Gyan Bharatam Mission for survey, documentation and conservation of our manuscripts, heritage with academic institutions, museums, libraries and private collectors will be undertaken to cover more than 1 crore manuscripts. “This scheme will help in protection and preservation of Arunachal’s own indigenous cultural heritage and practices,” he said.
Moreover, the newly elected State president, on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, conveyed thanks to PM Modi and FM Sithiraman for presenting the ‘people-friendly’ budget and said, “Overall this budget is for an Atmanibhar Viksit Bharat and Viksit Arunachal”.
