Nirjuli, Feb 3: The inaugural session of the online joint faculty development program (FDP) on "technology-enabled teaching-learning process for institutes" was successfully conducted at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) here on Monday.
The FDP, scheduled to run till February 14, is being jointly organized by the Electronics & ICT Academy IIT Guwahati, MNIT Jaipur, NIT Patna, and IIITDM Jabalpur, with NERIST serving as the Spoke Institute.
Gracing the inaugural function, NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the significance of technology-enabled teaching, learning, and institutional processes. He highlighted the transformative role of digital tools in modern education and encouraged faculty members to integrate innovative teaching methodologies into their pedagogical practices.
Joining the function online, Prof Gaurav Trivedi, Principal Investigator of the Electronics & ICT Academy IIT Guwahati, underscored the objectives of the FDP and the need for faculty members to adapt to emerging technological trends in education.
The event was also attended by Prof Sarsing Gao, Dean (Academics), Prof Madhubala Sharma, Dean (R&D), and Prof M Chandrasekharan, Dean (Administration), along with Heads of Departments (HoDs), Heads of Centres (HoCs), and faculty members.
Resource persons from various prestigious institutes shared their insights on the evolving landscape of technology-enabled teaching and learning, providing valuable perspectives on its current relevance and future prospects. Their discussions covered innovative pedagogical approaches, digital learning tools, and best practices for integrating technology into institutional frameworks.
The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 100 faculty members and PhD scholars from various institutions, fostering a collaborative learning environment aimed at enhancing teaching methodologies through technology. The program is expected to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge to effectively incorporate technological advancements into their academic engagements.
With a dynamic lineup of expert sessions and interactive discussions planned over the next two weeks, the FDP promises to be a transformative experience for educators committed to leveraging technology for enhancing the teaching-learning process.
