Itanagar, Feb 3: State’s Land Management Minister Balo Raja on Monday launched the portals of Land Information System of Arunachal Pradesh (LISA) to facilitate online payment of land revenue and digitization of land records, and National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) for registration of mortgage and gift deed.
The initiative was launched on a pilot basis at the Civil Secretariat here in a programme organized by the Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), in collaboration with the Department of Land Management, GoAP.
The Minister said that the initiative will benefit people across the state by ensuring a uniform process for registration of deeds/documents and online payment of land revenue, preventing revenue leakage.
Initially, we have launched the system in five districts, and gradually, we plan to expand it further across all districts. If there are any shortcomings, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will make necessary modifications, he said. He added that the new system would reduce delays in land-related transactions and there will be no need to go for treasury challan.
He appealed to the DC, Secretary Land Management, and other officials of the department to work together for the betterment of the people of the State.
Land Management Secretary A K Singh congratulated the DC, ICR and appreciated the NIC team for their efforts in developing the online system. “In the Department of Land Management, we have been trying to adopt all this online services for the ease of doing business and for the betterment of the people,” he said.
Through LISA, citizens can now pay their annual lease rent online, a process that previously required multiple visits to the treasury and the offices of District Land Revenue & Settlement Officer (DLRSO), he said.
The Secretary further revealed that the department is also on the job of developing an online portal for land allotment and online land acquisition procedures to prevent unnecessary delays and harassment of citizens.
Singh also talked about the importance and benefits of the NGDRS like citizen empowerment through online entry of deeds, online payments, online appointment, online admission, document search etc.
The event was attended by MLA cum Advisor to the Minister, Techi Kaso, ICR DC Talo Potom, Land Management Director, Joint Secretary and other officials.
