RONO HILLS, May 9: The concluding day of the two-day Sanskrit orientation workshop, organized by Rajiv Gandhi University and Central Sanskrit University at the RGU premises here, saw the presence of students from Oju Mission School and the University.
The final day began with Bhasha Parichay and Bhasha Krida, providing attendees with interactive and immersive experiences in Sanskrit language learning.
Following the Bhasha Krida all the participants joined the competitions aimed at encouraging Sanskrit usage among students. Participants showcased their talents in the Shloka recitation, Sanskrit Gayan (singing), and Skit competitions, reflecting their creativity and growing connection with the language.
It requires a special mention here that a heartfelt Sanskrit song by Padi Kari, a student of CSL, CDOE (RGU) added attraction to the ceremony.
Prize-winning performances from the Shloka, Gayan, and Skit competitions delighted the audience.
Prof Ashan Riddi, Director CDOE (RGU) and Prof Otem Padung, Finance Officer (RGU), both commended the participants and organizing team for fostering a renewed interest in the ancient language. The prize distribution ceremony recognized outstanding performers and contributors. Pradip Horo and Diganta Das, two dedicated employees of the Centre for Cultural Research and Documentation, were specially felicitated for their unwavering efforts in making the event a success as one of the collaborative partners.
The event concluded on a high note with a captivating folk dance by students from the Centre for Sanskrit Learning.
With rich academic insights and enthusiastic participation, the workshop succeeded in reinforcing Sanskrit’s relevance and value in contemporary education. The palpable excitement and engagement demonstrated by the participants throughout the programme offer clear evidence that its objectives were not only met but exceeded expectations. From the lively discussions and hands-on activities to the earnest feedback shared at each milestone, every indicator pointed toward meaningful learning and genuine enthusiasm.
