Kristi Kendra postpones Golden Jubilee-cum-Bihu celebration in solidarity with Indian Armed Forces

Naharlagun, May 9: In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, the Kristi Kendra Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee (KKGJCC) here has decided to postpone its much-anticipated Golden Jubilee-cum-Rongali Bihu Sanmilan, which was scheduled to be held from May 10 to 12.

The decision was taken in light of the prevailing tense situation in the country with Indian forces engaged in decisive actions to safeguard national security following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists.

“We stand with our jawans and salute their courage. The celebration can wait,” said KKGJCC chairman Priyam Borthakur, emphasizing the Committee's respect and support for the armed forces during this critical time.

Organising secretary Rahul Dutta added that the new dates for the celebration will be announced later, once the situation normalizes.

The move has been widely appreciated as a symbol of patriotic commitment, with the Committee choosing to honour the spirit of the nation over festivities.
