‘Shiksha Saathi Dibang’ initiative launched to empower students through career counselling

Anini, Jul 31: In a major step toward empowering students with informed career choices, the Department of Panchayati Raj, Dibang Valley, in collaboration with the Department of Education and local NGO HOPE DEFENCE, has officially launched the “Shiksha Saathi Dibang” initiative on Wednesday.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide structured career counselling sessions in schools across Dibang Valley, guiding youth towards brighter futures.

Earlier on July 9, a significant Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) was signed between the Department of Panchayati Raj and HOPE DEFENCE. The agreement sets in motion a series of monthly career counselling workshops to be held on the last Saturday of each month, targeting students from classes VI to XII setting them on a path to informed career choices.

The inaugural session was held at PM Shri Upper Primary School, Angolin, where more than 45 students and their parents participated with enthusiasm. Attending as the resource person, District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran delivered an engaging and informative session on career opportunities in the fields of commerce and management. He discussed academic and professional pathways including BCom, BBA, BCA, MCom, MBA, MCA, Chartered Accountancy (CA), ACCA, and CFA, offering practical insights into each option.

The session received an overwhelmingly positive response from both students and parents, reflecting a growing community interest in career awareness and planning.

HOPE DEFENCE, a grassroots NGO based in Anini, is at the heart of this transformative initiative. With a mission to reshape the educational landscape of Dibang Valley, the organization aims to inspire not only students but also parents and the wider community. Their work is rooted in principles of sustainable development and holistic community engagement. (DIPRO)
