Assembly shed inaugurated at Sarkha Happa school

Sagalee, Nov 15: A newly constructed assembly shed at the Government Girls’ Residential School, Sarkha Happa, Nimte, was inaugurated on Friday by Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Vishakha Yadav in the presence of Sagalee ADC Yame Higio.

Addressing the gathering, DC Yadav recalled her visit to the school in July 2025, when students and teachers had apprised her of the infrastructural challenges during an interaction held in an open area. She said the construction of the assembly shed was a direct outcome of that visit.

The DC advised students to remain focused on their goals while maintaining a balance between academics, mental well-being, and regular physical exercise.

ADC Yame Higio informed that the assembly shed had been constructed without any government funding so far. She appreciated the contractor for completing the project within a month despite the absence of administrative financial support.

President of the All Papum Pare District Students’ Union (APPDSU), Gollo Lento, also spoke on the occasion. Referring to a recent incident at KGBV, Tani-Happa, he suggested appointing GNM-level nursing staff in all boarding schools with more than 50 students. He announced that APPDSU would provide 100 chairs and 10 CCTV cameras to the school.

Social worker Teli Tatum Camdir and BEO Sagalee, Yang Yangfo, also attended the program. Prizes were also distributed to students who excelled in the school’s recent Annual Sports, Literary, and Cultural Meet. (DIPRO)
